Hi! I’m in the midst of booking on the North Shore. I wish I had suggestions to give, but it seems like you have more info than I do now. If I may, which home are you renting for your wedding? I’m looking at Hale O Napohaku.

We’re thinking around March 2017, but nothing is set in stone yet.. My group would consist of 18 of us, including myself and the groom. We’re just inviting close family and my S/O’s best friend. My S/O and I thought it would be cheaper to rent a house and have the family stay there, while we went a bungalow or another home for us. We would have the wedding at the family house though. The good news is that there is a COSTCO and other resources nearby. Do you think it would be fair/etiquette to tell the family to pay for the home themselves? My partner wants to do that, ultimately it would be cheaper for them, but I can’t help feeling bad because we’re asking them to fly to ur event.

I’m a Hawaii bride. I leave in 17 days for Oahu. We’ve rented The Plantation Estate in Ka’a’awa. I’m doing everything on my own, no wedding planner and we have 18 people attending plus us. I think there is already a thread out there on this topic that you’d probably get a ton of venor info on.

I’ve hired Adam A Palmer Photography and Kenekes (catering). Costco cake. I’m having Cheryl Hazelgrove do hair and makeup. My brother has become ordained in order to be our officiant. I haven’t figured out where to get flowers yet. The businesses in Hawaii have HORRIBLE websites and are difficult to communicate with via email.

Mstar:  Ah! My wedding is relatively small, low-budget, and simple. I’m planning to do my own hair and get my makeup done at Sephora for $50. We’re doing rentals through Hawaii Tents and Events – I’m quite pleased with their promptness in communication, pricing, and selection. Our officiant is a family member. I’m planning to use Watanabe Floral (if they ever respond to me – island time!!!) and FiftyFlowers. I wish I could be of more help for vendor suggestions!

I am getting married on the north shore of Kauai next month!  I hired a wedding planning company, rented a semi private room at a Kauai resturaunt for dinner after the ceremony, and am planning a big home celebration/reception for everyone in September.  There will only be 9 of us traveling to Hawaii, which is perfect for me.  I wanted a small intimate wedding on the beach and that is exactly what I am getting.  I can. not. wait!!!!!

I had Kenekes for catering. Adam A Palmer for photography. Cheryl Hazelgrove for hair and makeup and they were all AMAZING!! I strongly recommend them all!

kenekes was a buffet style, very affordable and extremely polite! The food was so good!
