I did! But I had morning sickness all day everyday my whole pregnancy! I was just lucky enough that my husband let me just call it quits and stay home lol definitely a weeny when it came to morning sickness 24/7
I never did - but I was never sick. There were a few days I felt pretty crappy and wanted to stay home...but I was so busy at work there was not really that option.
I never called out but I threw up so much at work one time they sent me home because no one knew I was pregnant yet and they didn't want to catch what I had ;)
I havent called in sick yet and I'm 23 weeks. I have had days when I felt terrible but dragged myself in to work, I just didnt want them to notice that I was any different when I was pregnant that way they would have no reason to give me a hard time about my pregnancy and upcoming maternity leave
I've sure felt like it, but I got pregnant right about the same time I started this job and I need to save my sick leave for appointments and maternity leave. Sigh.
Hells yes. I work two jobs (one overnight) and pull doubles at least four times a week - so with the extreme fatigue I just can't do it sometimes. Also, this all day nausea, coupled with a few episodes of feeling light-headed & dizzy (and one instance of actually BURSTING into tears because I couldn't handle one more second of feeling disgusting) have led me to ask to be sent home a couple of times.
let's just say I'm not looking forward to the next two paycheques. Sigh.
I did once, due to morning sickness. I was super sick all day/all night long, and I was at the end of a run of night sifts, and with each one I just felt worse and worse until I couldn't take it anymore.
I did once, as I had gotten very little sleep (from nausea) and I was super sick in the morning. It was a combination of major nausea and throwing up, so I took a sick day.
One of the other pregnancy symptoms I've had is major headaches. I have not stayed home for those-- I've just worked through them.
This poll makes me feel like a slacker, LOL.
I totally have!
Don't feel bad. I have called out a few days. Maybe 3. I am a teacher and on days when morning sickness was bad it is just easier for me to be out than in. I cannot just leave the kiddos to go vomit so I have to get my neighbor teacher to stand in between our two doorways to watch both classes. Its such a hassle and I become more of a nusiance. I feel awful for taking off those days but one day I came into work and had to go vomit 7 times at school all before lunch. I finally just got a subsitute for the afternoon so I could go home. You do what you have to do.
I'm 35 weeks, and have not used one sick day yet! I'm saving them all for after baby.
