I’m 5’1 and looking into getting a long single tier raw edge veil. Based on various veil charts like the one below, I prefer the chapel length. My dress also has a chapel length train and our ceremony will be outdoors on a patio, so I feel that length won’t be too cumbersome.
However I’m not sure since, 1) illustrations aren’t based on a petite height and 2) the placement of the veil on these charts seem to always be on the very top of the head. I’m planning on wearing my hair down or half up, so I’ll be placing it either on the top or middle of the back of my head.
Should I be looking into the shorter ankle length or stick with the chapel? Example pics would be great if anybody has them!

I’m 4’11 and wore a cathedral veil with a chapel length train and you can see that I wore my hair down with the veil on the back of my head. Hope these photos help! I loved my dress and my veil.

Mrs. Coyote: Oh wow, that helps a lot! Thanks for the pics and you looked beautiful! I love your dress and the veil is perfect with it.

vip0802: I actually got my veil custom cut to extend just past my train, so it porportionately looks chapel length. That might be an option!

I made my daughter’s veil and did not want it to go past the edge of her skirt. She is 5′ 1″.

I found out my dress actually has a sweep train instead of a chapel, but I suppose since it’s not altered yet that my height made me think it was longer than it really was.
bitsybee: I found a seller on Etsy that can do custom lengths, so I’ll most likely go this route. Thanks!
pinkksnow: Oh wow, that’s so awesome that you made your daughter’s veil! Its perfect!

vip0802: I am also 5’1 and had the exact veil you’re describing. it didn’t bother me at all, and I took it off after the ceremony so really wasn’t wearing it long anyway. I actually regretted the train on my dress more, because I was outside and the dress was all point d’esprit lace so everything got stuck in it. Sorry no pics on my work computer, but if you don’t get enough examples and would like one, I’ll upload one tonight.
