Wow, kudos on picking a unique honeymoon location, pendola!

What do you and your FI like to do? Foodies? Sports? Museums? Outdoor activities?

With a little more info, we can get you a Burgh itinerary all set up! 🙂

Hi, Pendola! Sorry, I was out of town for a few days.

If you’re foodies, you MUST spend a few hours in the Strip District. It’s an area of lots of specialty grocery stores, small restaurants, cheeseshops, ethnic grocerias, etc. In January it won’t be as fun as in the summer but you can definitely eat your way thru there!

There are lots of museums, the Warhol being a popular choice downtown, for modern art. There are also the American Art and Natural History Carnegie museums in Oakland.

Some of my favorite restaurants for you to google: Point Brugge Cafe, Mallorca,  Tessaro’s, and Church Brew Works, Girasole.

Hope this gives you somewhere to start! Let me know if you have anymore questions!

Do not forget to eat a Primanti’s sandwich! It’s actually what the picture in my avatar is! My favorite is the roast beef. One of my favorite bars/restaurants in Pittsburgh is the Bloomfield Bridge Tavern. It’s kind of dive-y and great. Christmas lights all year round type of thing. They have the most unbelievable pierogies, another Pittsburgh classic.

Also, if you like architecture and that sort of thing, you should go wander around inside the Cathedral of Learning on the University of Pittsburgh’s campus. It’s super cool, and I don’t just say that because I’m a VERY PROUD alum. There are a whole bunch of classrooms called Nationality Rooms, and they’re designed in the style of ancient classrooms from different countries. My favorites are the Indian Room and the Israeli Room.

Have fun! I totally get little hearts and birds floating around my head when I think of my beloved Pittsburgh.
