elliptical2013:  probably for the same reason that anyone chooses their theme, peacock for example. They love it and/or it means something to them.

i agree! Sure camo isn’t for everyone but there are lots of people who love it!

elliptical2013:  why did you choose your theme? I’m sure there are lots of people who think your idea is terrible! I’m not saying I would choose to have a camp theme… But I certainly would never put down someones choice of theme either.. Even if it wasn’t my cup of tea!

Because camo is a way of life in some areas. Camo themed weddings are not uncommon where I live.

elliptical2013:  She’s definitely a strange bride, even for that show!

Camo can be done classy but some couples go all out.  Camo is a way of life in some areas of the South so it’s not odd for us to see camo themed weddings.

Usually the bride and BMs look like this:

While the Groom and GMs tend to rock this:

Obviously couples choose it as it appeals to them! It is no better or worse than any other themed wedding in my opinion.

(The only theme my wedding had was ‘wedding!’)

Echoing the PPs, because they like it! Doesn’t mean it looks good, but that can happen with any theme.

Or you could be like a friend of mine and go with camo because you don’t have an opinion on your own and you let your fiancé make every decision in your life.

elliptical2013:  like other bees have said, people pick camo themes for their weddings because they like camo. It is a theme (a quite popular theme in some areas) that people select because it suits their taste and is special enough to them that they want to incorporate it in their day. Like the old adage states, different strokes for different folks.

I also think we should be careful about calling other people’s weddings “awful”. We are all entitled to like and dislike things but calling something awful is so harsh and mean. The day is about celebrating love and lifetime commitment. People have the right to make that commitment in any way they choose with any elements that are significant and special to them.

@elliptical2013:  “I was watching bridezillas season 10 episode ashley and ariane and that was the first time i saw camo, maybe they just made it look awful

Whoa- I didn’t put words in your mouth. I didn’t say that you said all camo weddings were awful and that wasn’t the intent or content of my post. I gave my opinon- it is harsh and mean to call other people’s weddings awful. That wasn’t putting words in your mouth it was based on a comment you made. I think it is distateful and offensive to speak about such a special and sacred event in someone else’s life as awful just because it isn’t your taste or style. Free speech still stands, and you have the right to think and speak however you choose. I also have the right to find certain statements and sentiments nauseating.
