Weddingbee boards

I've seen many beautiful arches made of willow branches or metal frames covered with flowers glued on but I was wondering if anyone had ever attempted a DIY arch out of any other type of branch? I really only ask because I have so many blossom branches in various colors and was hoping I could put about half of them to good use by making an arch (It'd be a mix of red, wine, purple, green and ivory). Here are some of them:

I'm picturing them like this pic below minus the lanterns (Found on Wedding bee) - just not sure how to secure everything together? Would I need to get a frame or have something sturdier made to glue the blossom branches to?

So you don't think there's anyway to tie them together or glue them on top of one another, like building off one after another? I was hoping to find a way around the expense of having to buy a premade arch if since I already have the branch material.

Hey! As far as having to buy an arch I just wanted to suggest hobby lobby. They have a decent one for thirty dollars but you can use the 40 % of coupon code that they offer and it ends up being very affordable. I used a shipping code as well and had it at my door for 20.00. You could spray paint it so it blends in with the branches.

Thanks ladies for both your suggestions! Very helpful. I think I will try a combination of wire and bending the branches. If not I found this picture that I've started to work on making pomanders for.
