Hi, my wedding’s in 7 months.
I’m going to a dermatologist 3 months before the wedding. The reason for this is b/c this one is the only one I can afford (sliding scale) and they’re booked until then. Bees have told me 3 months should be ok to see some changes.
Now I’m sure there will be some changes, I know there’s stuff like Retin A they can give me to help with acne scars but I doubt they’ll be all gone in 3 months.
Typically makeup and concealer hides the red acne scars but you still know they’re there if you look very closely.
Are professional makeup artists able to cover them?

Yes, professional makeup artists should be able to cover your acne scars. Have you considered airbrushing? It covers any discolorations you may have without looking cakey and it lasts all day.

Heck yes! I’ve seen the work a make up artist did on a friend for her wedding. It was amazing! I think I’d tell the artist beforehand that acne scars is a concern of yours so she can be sure to bring the appropriate type(s) of foundation and concealer. My friend loves her wedding pictures!

It all depends on which makeup artist you get. The woman who’s doing my makeup (& who did my makeup for a friends wedding, too) didn’t really cover up a bump I had at the time because she said it would be more noticable. But, if it’s just acne scars, then I don’t really see it being a problem. And especially in the pictures you won’t have to worry about it because your photographer should be able to edit them out.
If you can, and if it’s not too pricey, I’d do a test run on a night out to make sure you go with the makeup artist that makes you happy.
