Go for it! I think it'd add an intimate, cozy feel to your wedding. Plus, being a girl who's spent her whole life in tundra climate, I am very pro-sweater! Nothing like a sweater to make you feel warm, loved, and totally ready to take on the world! :)

hehe, thanks Rabbit - from one northern girl to another, we gotta find ways to keep warm!

Brainstorming a winter wedding is really making it clear to me WHY winter is the least popular wedding month. There are reasons behind this madness!

Have you considered wearing a coat instead of a sweater?  HumarockBride just posted about a great one she found: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/i-finally-found-a-jacket

You could come up with a unqiue design (I voted that I loved your idea btw DDW) and post it on alchemy on Etsy or to this favorite etsy seller whose designs I adore, and have one created for you!  I like the idea of an ornate sweater!

Maybe show us your dress or what you'd like your dress style to be and we could all work together (you deciding of course) what kind of style sweater would look both glamorous and fabulous with it???

I think it's a great idea.  I'm a huge fan of Bonzie's work with her caplets and boleros on etsy, and I wonder if she could create a larger yet still romantic and warm sweater?  Have you checked her style out?  Maybe something more substantial in fabric but just as ornate?

I love this style, but you'd need something more winter friendly but love the ruffely look of this:

and here's a sweater she made in pewter:

Here's a link to her etsy shop:

I am wearing a cape on my wedding day.  I made it myself, and haven't taken any pictures, but I will when I get home today and post some.

You should definitely wear a sweater! My friend knitted me one for my wedding & it was perfect. It was a great pop of color, kept me warm, (mine was green) and now whenever I wear it I'm reminded of our wedding day.

I voted yes for a casual wedding but, I do like the idea- it also depends what your dress is like and the theme of your wedding. What about a faux fur long sleeved shrug/bolero or a knitted shrug? I think the cute cardigan is fine but, a shrug would be even better. Since we are getting married outside in the snow in Colorado in I'm going to be wearing a long sleeved shrug, something similar to faux fur pictured:

I just bought this cute sweater for my wedding in case it gets chilly. I found it at anthro and love the blush color.

I've been looking for a good sweater but I just can't find anything.  I'm planning on having it just for the reception though.

I saw a really lovely magazine shoot where they were in the snow and the "bride" was wearing a really lovely ball gown type dress and over the top she had a wrap around cardigan that ballet dancers wear. It was a baby pink colour and was nice and fluffy looking like maybe cashmere or angora wool. It looked great - and warm! LOL

i am wearing a sweater with mine. old navy has some great little button up 3/4 sleeve sweaters right now... light weight if you are having a summer wedding! plus you could add a flower to it or a broch if you wanter.

Victoria's Secret has an adorable little cashmere cardigan in lots of different colors that also might work for cold weather brides. :)
