I am required to have one by my venue. I called so many I lost count. I've narrowed my selection down to two. One is at Green Events and the other is Jill Watson. Both are in Orange County.
Mine was Lina Wallace of A Stunning Affair. She was AMAZING and beyond worth it. best money we spent on the wedding. I highly recommend her.
I called so many planners and immediately liked Sara from Planning Forever Memories. She is based in Los Angeles, but I am not sure if she would charge travel for an OC wedding. She has a great fall/winter special right now...give her a call and tell her Leia sent you. Our wedding isnt until July, but so far for a DOC she has gone above and beyond, agreeing to conduct TWO seperate rehearsals as well as deciding to bring an assistant on the day of for not extra charge. Very organized and has given me so many tips/advice since booking her just a couple months ago. Good luck!
