Me and my FI are fine, but I would like to read a book together that prepares us for marriage. Does anyone have a recommendation? Has anyone else done this?

The Seven Principles for Making Marriage Work - John Gottman

Get it, read it. I would advise each of you getting a copy, reading through it at the same pace and discussing things.

Do you care if there's a christian theme? etc...

Yeah, if you don't mind a Christian based book, "Saving Your Marriage before it Starts" by Les & Leslie Parrott is phenomenal.

LOL..Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus.  We read it together when we first met for fun and now we apply ourselves to it all the time, very helpful!

We read some marriage books on our honeymoon that I would recommend:

Emotional Infidelity: How to Affair-Proof Your Marriage and 10 Other Secrets to a Great Relationship by Gary Neuman

His Needs, Her Needs by Willard F. Harley

I Promise You: Preparing For a Marriage that Will Last a Lifetime by Willard F. Harley

I think reading marriage-help books together is a great way to spark conversation and get closer.  My husband read aloud to me every day on our honeymoon, and it was very romantic.  ;)

Another Christian recommendation is Just How Married Do You Want To Be :) but I wouldn't recommend it if you're not religious.

I agree with the recommendation of John Gottman's Seven Principles book -- so helpful, and is a real-world, practical approach.

Thanks ladies! I will def try the John Gottman one. My FI is Buddhist, so I'm not sure how the Christian books would fly... but thanks for the input anyways!!!
