I am looking for a DJ on Sunday, April 27th 2014 from 6 PM to 10 PM. I prefer to pay less than $1,000 for 4 hours. I found someone great whom my friend is using in 2014 as well and he was only $950, but he is already booked. I would like to pay less than $1,000, but will consider $1,100 for 4 hours. It is at The Garrison 🙂

We are going with Tom Destry Entertainment. Our venue recommended him and he’s in your price range. 🙂

We are working with Enrique for our wedding in May. He was recommended by our day-of-coordinator. He’s in upper Manhattan, but he’s traveling to NJ for us, so I’m sure you can ask him about coming up to the Hudson Valley. He’s within your budget.

I live in the Hudson Valley, but my DJ is actually coming from vermont:
So many DJs around here weren’t so great in my opinion. The Spencer Daniels agency seemed like it had good prices, but it had hidden fees, plus you couldn’t meet with your DJ ahead of time and they wouldn’t even tell you which person would be doing your wedding until the last minute. My sister had used Tom Destry. He continually announced her name wrong no matter how many times she corrected him, plus I thought it was ulta cheesy/ not really what I was looking for. I haven’t gotten married yet, but so far I love my DJs wedding site where couples can log in and edit their wedding music. It’s really personal and let’s me control everything (bit of a control freak) Also, Evan has gotten back to me about everything really quickly. I feel very comfortable so far.

We ended up using DJ Destry. He was good, but not great. The music was not loud enough for everyone around the very large room to hear it. I didn’t hear most of the songs I requested from him either because I was in the back of the room where he was not easily heard or because he didn’t play them… I would recommend him if you are on a budget and want a very nice and capable dj for a wedding smaller than 120 people.
