I don't have a recommendation, but it sounds like you settled on a venue... what did you end up going with?

I suggest you do a search first on their website- enter caterer as your search term.
The people who contribute to the chowhound site are more likely to help someone who has done a little looking for themselves before posting a question.

@SapphireSun: We chose the church with it's hall that is right downstairs. It is gorgeous and super convenient for our (nearly all) out-of-town guests. I forgot to post that on my thread asking for venue suggestions! Thanks for reminding me to post it!!
Thanks for the catering suggestions... Anyone have opinions on buffet vs. plated meal. I like the idea of each guest choosing exactly as they like, but then they have to wait in a line and food may be cold..
If your main concern is that food will be cold, I find that problem more often in a plated reception than a buffet. Particularly if there isnt' an extensive kitchen in the hall.
@natdawn did you find a caterer, if not i can recommend someone (just PM me) she works out to be about 21.00 a plate, thats with coffee service, bottomless punch, two meat choices, salads, buns and a platter (I think)

Thank you so much for this post! I myself was unsure of where to start with catering ..... My FI and I are huge foodies, we are having an outdoor laidback wedding and a gourmet BBQ was top of the list! With your suggestions we can see that this will be a reality! Yay!

Hi Vancouver Bees,
We are having our Wedding & Reception in Richmond, B.C. I used to live in Vancouver, but moved about 5 years ago. Aside from that, I never had to arrange catering during the span in which I lived there.
Anyone have any suggestions for a good catering company? At this point I am pretty much picking out of the phone book, so to speak.
Any recommendations are greatly appreciated!
