Good question, it looks thicker than sand, but I wonder if it's just the speed of it? I'm not sure. Also, I wonder how they sealed that middle container!
It could possibly be colored aquarium gravel, availabel at any pet store. Or it could be colored sand. You can make colored sand yourself using white beach sand and colored chalk. Just grind the chalk into the sand until it's all mixed up.
I am trying to figure out what this couple used instead of sand for their sand ceremony and where to find it. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
