If you aren’t wearing white, her dress will likely make yours look dingy.  Did you get them at the same location?  Maybe you can put the white and ivory next to each other to see what it looks like together.

If your dress is ivory, everything needs to be ivory. she can still wear silver shoes,

My dress was ivory & DH’s shirt was white- you really can’t even tell they’re different in my pics at all.

If your dress is ivory then I would definately suggest going with a similar color for your FG.  When a white and ivory dress are next to eachother the white tends to look bright while the ivory as abbie017 said looks “dingy” and you don’t want that!

Several bees posted about this in another thread – there were some photos, too, to help with visuals and comparisons. =]

You’ll be perfectly fine with your DH in a white shirt (because it will be surrounded by black); however, I absolutely would have your FG in ivory. There is a risk if you have her in white that you will not like the pics of her with you, and there is absolutely NO downside to having her dress match yours. She can still wear silver shoes.

@cherryblossomlove:  Yes, you should be fine even with white linens, because you are not going to have formal pics taken outside next to your tablecloths. 🙂  And, you’re right, the lighting inside likely will be soft, and warm, so you should not have any problems.  But, when you have close ups of you with your daughter, you will want to LOVE them, not be wishing that somehow her dress did not clash with yours.  I’m so glad you’re doing this!! 🙂

I would go with ivory for the groom and girl, you dont want to look dirty standing next to someone who is wearing bright white.

I definitely don’t think ivory looks dingy against white – in fact it looks richer and more elegant in my opinion. My linens are white as well as the GM shirts, and I’ve seen enough pics to know it will look great! I couldn’t bring myself to even try on a white dress at the bridal shops because I thought they looked so cheap against ivory! So there’s different perspective for ya 😉

@maraschino:  The link to the thread with pictures of the FG with white gown and bride with ivory gown sitting on the steps is a perfect example!  The FG dress makes the brides dress look yellow-ish.

I would definately match the FG dress to the color of your dress.  I tend to focus on details so that would absolutely bother me.

My FG’s dress was white and mine was ivory. I was so nervous that it would look awful but I found the perfect dress for super cheap and I had to get it. We didn’t really stand by each other much in pictures, so it wasn’t an issue.

I think you should match with your flower girl!
