Hi im diy bouquets. My colors are purple and silver not really sure what to do with my bouquets. I was thinking maybe the bridesmaids could have white roses and i could have purple daisys. Is there anything else that i could uses besides this for my bouquets. Thanks.

@isabelle_86: dusty miller is a nice silver color and I think eucalyptus could give you that silvery feel too. Depending on what color purple you’re using, you could incorporate lisianthus, lavender roses, lavender, purple calla lilies or alstroemeria. I would steer clear of hydrangeas, iris, tulips or anything with a tender stem.

@housebee: The dresses will be a dark purple. not sure what color purple i could use with that.

@isabelle_86: Without actually seeing what color it is, it’s hard to say. I would imagine something lighter (white, silver, lavender) would probably look better against the dark dresses.

What about hydrangeas? They come in a beautiful lavender or white options. The best part is they take up a lot of space for a comparatively small price!

We are purple, black and silver, we are using a variety of purple flowers to help it so they don’t look flat and boring. Flowers are hydrangeas, dahlias, iris and some touches of greenery and white.

Try mixing shades of purple, lavander, and lisianthius (sp.?) are awesome. The difffernt blooms can also add depth and variety. Lisanthius can be more expensive but you get several blooms per bunch hence more bang for your buck.

@isabelle_86: I had the BMs in purple dresses with white hydrangeas while I had a colorful cascading bouquet. It did look lovely but I would have went with carnations or roses if I was DIYIng it because hydrangeas are very delicate.
This is what comes up in a search http://www.wholeblossoms.com/265-wholesale-silver-flowers.html I think your best bet is to keep the daisies and tie them with a silver ribbon.

My bridesmaids had purple dresses, and we ordered a bunch of green, purple, and white flowers from the grocery store, and they made their bouquets themselves.
Mine was supposed to be all white roses and white hydrangeas, but the store messed up and only had green hydrangeas, so that’s what it was.
Here are some of their creations:

@isabelle_86: This isn’t purple but its daisys, roses and hydrangea mixed
Maybe you could use hydrangea like this as a filler
