Honestly, the post office is pretty rigid about their rules. I think having at least a last name is better than just Bride and Groom.
I wouldn't risk it. I've had stuff be returned in some cities I lived in because my last name was spelled wrong. I'd be afraid to do it.
@sagbride: our replies were addressed to "the soon to be newlyweds" at our address. we had no problem receiving them......and they were super cute!
USPS rules require a valid address, they don't / won't cross reference the recipients names. If you have the correct spelling of all address information (street, city, state) and a valid zip code you should be good to go!! I think the idea is just darling.
It should be fine. The thing USPS looks at most of all is address. Is the address correct and easily readable. The postmaster here told me that the second to last and last lines are the most important. If you are still needing reassurance, you can go to the post office and ask to speak to the postmaster. Show them what you wanted to do and ask if it's okay or if they have a suggestion. Usually the staff is happy to help brides. Our staff here is even looking out for stamps and changes in rates to give me a heads up.
I also think it should be fine. When I was younger I used to think it was hilarious to send letters to my friends using completely made-up names, and my letters always got delivered as log as the address was correct.
My FI works for the post office, and he says all they really look at is the actually street address/city/state/zip.
if the names are truly that important, then why do i still get mail for people that lived in this apartment 4+ years ago? There are about 3 different names i get all the time.
I did mine as HisLastName-MyLastName Wedding, at my address (we don't live together). Got 'em just fine.
it should be fine, but really if its the RSVP, you are not actually the bride and groom UNTIL the wedding day.
Is the US postal system that fussy?! I would have thought it would get there. And it's a cute idea :)

will it not be delivered?
For example:
The Bride & Groom
44 Main Street
Anytown, NY 11111
My fiance & I live together and our hosting so I thought it could be cute....but I want to make sure a proper name isn't required for the USPS to deliver.
Thanks!!
