Usually when I’m washing dishes, baking, cooking, etc. I take my ring off. I really don’t like to expose it to things I “immerse” my hands in – even when putting on lotions or hand sanitizer, I take it off while I’m rubbing my hands.
The only thing that I’m not consistent in taking it off for is when I wash my hands with soap and water.. like after going to the bathroom. If I was in a public restroom, no way am I taking it off! But if I’m in my own home, etc. can I leave it on when I wash for a minute with soap and water, or is it best not to expose the ring too much?

I take it off for the same things as you, but I know a lot of people who never take it off. So I’m very sure it’s fine with watch your hands with soap and water with it on. Assuming it’s gold or platinum, it should be fine. The lotion is the one I really try to avoid so it doesn’t get gunky around the little diamonds in my band.

Assuming it is not an opal or something else delicate, you are fine. I take my rings off too for the things you describe (and others) but not always if just quickly washing my hands with just soap and water, etc. Just make sure to rinse well so no soap gets stuck under the ring and causes irritation. Also prevents soap scum taking the shine off your rings!

I wear my e-ring and wedding ring for almost everything except sleeping. I’ve worn them in swimming pools and in the ocean. Both are platinum settings with diamonds, and I have had no problems at all. I would not wear them if I were going to be sticking my hands in dirt or mud (for example, if I did some type of gardening), but I wear them when I wash my hands, clean up the kitchen, and sometimes when I take a shower and clean the house. I probably would not recommend immerse them in cleaning products, though.

What you’re doing is just fine. You can leave it on to wash your hands with soap and water.
