@Tswife4ever: It's not romantic or funny, but I've been reading The Island of Lost Maps, it's non-fiction about the history of cartography (map making) and the rise of antique map theft (that sounds really boring, but it reads sort of like a mystery, too).
I liked the Hunger Games, The Art of Racing in the Rain, The Help, Perks of Being a Wallflower, Something Borrowed/Something Blue
I've also heard this book is really funny - http://pinterest.com/pin/94716398382625786/
I loved Something Borrowed. I personally liked Something Blue better, but you have to read Borrowed first to understand it. I personally didn't like Chelsea Handler's books, but I'm in the minority so check those out.
My personal favorite author if you want funny is Jen Lancaster. She writes autobiographical books, but she is hilarious and very self deprecating so you really feel like you know her by the end of the book. She used to be this corporate big wig but lost her job after 9/11 and now writes for a living. Some of her stories include having her wedding in Vegas in the middle of this huge annual porn convention taking place at her hotel, or how everytime she takes Ambien she orders Barbie heads without remembering. She even wrote a story about her mom cornering the whole family during Thanksgiving dinner asking what a reach around was and going on and on asking if her dad got reacharounds in the Army, or if she gives the dog one and her mom doing blow jobs shots in a bar and telling her she was well practiced in the art of taking 'blow job shots'. She has books about her obsession with Target, her crazy neighbors, weight loss, finding a new job, her reality TV obsession, rescuing dogs, and her clothing obsession. Her books each cover a different topic. Personally I liked 'Bitter is the New Black' and 'Such a Pretty Fat: One Narcissist's Quest to Discover If Her Life Makes Her Ass Look Big; Or, Why Pie Is Not the Answer' -and yes, that is one title.
Oh, you should read Little Earthquakes by Jennifer Weiner. I love all her books, but Little Earthquakes is my favorite. Another good one is The Glass Castle by Jeannette Wells. Anything by Nicholas Sparks or Jodi Picoult of course. I also like Ellen Hopkins....her Crank series (3 books) is REALLY good.
Kindle has a lot of free books. I've downloaded quite a few in the past few months.
Someone else set up this search and I check it out every once in a while. Free Kindle Books
There's also a site called Ereader News Today that gives a list of free Kindle books. I check that one every day!
Some of my favorite authors are Robin Jones Gunn, Lori Wick, Joann Fluke, and Shannon Hale.
The ENTIRE Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead. Seriously! I couldn't put them down.
Check out Pixel of Ink on Facebook; it has daily free books and sometimes special offers on new releases. I've recently download:
