Well it costs $40 to replate my e-ring so probably in that ballpark?
I think cost would depend how much surface area the jewelry has to cover, since that would determine just how much gold is needed. It would probably also depend on whether the material it's made of it. I electroplated my keys with copper in chemistry class in university, and some took better than others, so I'd definitely say this is a question for your local jeweller.
are you plating the pendant or the whole chain? it might not be worth it, depending on what you want to do.
the gold will wear off the back of the pendant after about a year. but the front might look good for a long time as long as it doesn't get a big scratch.
If you want to plate the entire chain, I would not recommend that. the plating won't hold up very well because the links will rub against each other and the plating will come off quickly.

Googling has not answered this question for me. All I get is info about how long gold plating lasts and ads for gold plated jewelry.
Say I have a piece of costume jewelry that I would like to have gold plated -- is this possible? If it is, how much does it cost (approximately)?
