I’m a veil designer on etsy and I always tell my clients that tulle colors are very forgiving…ivory tulle will match an ivory dress perfectly, it may be a slight shade or 2 lighter or darker and not make a noticeable difference. It may look much darker on the samples but that’s because the sample is folded several times making it appear darker.

You should have no problems.

And horsehair veils are so elegant – swoon.

I ordered my veil without seeing a swatch. I lucked out and it was fine with my light gold w/ white lace overlay dress. BUT, the caveat is that my veil is extremely simple. Like literally just a cut of tulle on a comb. With that border around the edge of your veil, it’s a risk. I really have no solid advice or opinions for you…your dress is simple (i.e. no beading/lacey embellishments), so if there’s a more than a slight color difference, I would assume it would show. Are you ok with them slightly mismatched, if necessary? Are you able to improvise to “blend” the two, if needed? Can you go with a simpler veil?

Bright side: that veil material looks very light. If you’re having your ceremony in a brightly-lit venue, it may not matter at all.

Sorry I can’t be of more help…hope it works out well for you!!

I’ve made 2 white veils and 2 ivory veils, and as long as I don’t fold like 10 layers of the tulle on top of itself, it seems to match whatever ivory/white item I hold it near. The first ivory one I made, it wasn’t obvious looking at it that it was ivory and not white, but it matched her ivory dress perfectly. You should be fine!

I think you will be fine. What is the return policy for the veils? If you are very concerned, you could order two and send back the one that doesn’t quite match.

I had a similar issue with matching my veil to my dress. I have lace on my dress and was looking at a veil with lace appliques, and the colors of the two different laces did not match. That bothered me. However, if you have a tulle veil with lace appliques and a satin dress, I think you should be fine. It will all blend together nicely!

No advice but just wanted to say I love your dress. It’s simple but classy and elegant and dare I say it, sexy…

you will be fine- that is what I did, and the veil came and it looks great with my ivory dress.  Tulle colors are pretty forgiving

I think you are fine with ordering the ivory. The only time I’ve ever cringed was when I saw someone wearing a creamy colored dress with a super white veil. It was just too harsh of a contrast.

@sillysillybee:  I just got my champagne and ivory swatches in English net from that seller. The ivory to my eye is a true ivory.
