I took a new job and I will be able to bike to work so of course I’m obsessed with the idea of a new bike. Sure, I already have a road bike and a mountain bike and a hybrid bike but now I really need a single speed bike…. so can I register for one?
Although I’m only partly joking, in all seriousness if you could register for anything and it wouldn’t be social unacceptable what would you register for? what would FI register for?
my fi would register for gun

OMG, mine would register for guns, too. 🙂
We registered for plenty of questionable items (my mom’s still complaining) that pushed the limit of what’s ‘traditional’, ‘appropriate’ or ‘right’ but decided the rule would be it had to be things we used together.
So TV, wii, video games, board games and movies = all went on the registries.
Notebook computer, bike, kindle covers, books for me – no. Shooting stuff and books for him? – no.

@thewheelsonthebus: board games are a good idea. The rule of things you would use together is a good one.

We thought so. 🙂 It’s helped us keep it a registry for a wedding/marriage vs. just a wish list for us like at Christmas.
