If you have a Burlington Coat Factory near you, you can buy them much cheaper than you would be able to rent them.  I bought DHs whole Calvin Klein black tie suit (suit, shirt, tie) for less than I could rent just the suit. And they do sell suit seperates.

I had the whole Grooms party buy there suits from Kohls. We waited until there was a 30% couplon and the suits came to about $100.

You can rent everything/bits & pieces but as a theatr bish who builds or has stuff built you just have to accept:

1) some of it will be ill fitting

2) in the long run a personal suit is a better option financially b.c you can wear it for keeps and it will look so much better

3) renting is the least expensive and such a great choice on a budget

4) YOU SHOULD DEF RENT SHOES- I don’t get people who buy dress shoes…if you’re not someone who wears them often the initial/maintenence costs are absurd…
