Our cake was very small. Two tiers.  A local bakery made it for about $200. We had it to feed 20 people but there was 3/4 of the cake left over…I guess none of us ate very much. Ha!

@amberjayjay:

who made it: A co-worker’s mother (who has made cakes before)

how much did it cost: $135 for top tier, 90 cupcakes and an anniversary cake

and how many did you feed: approx. 85 people

It was chocolate cake with vanilla frosting and it was delicious. She made the flowers on top by hand from gumpaste. We also had a smores bar to supplement the cupcakes (for $1 per person).

@amberjayjay:  I know, I wanted it ALL eaten! But they refused to make me a smaller cake. Haha. If I were you I would go with 3 tiers, but not huge. Or 2 large tiers. The 3 tiered option is if you’re dead set on saving the top tier to eat a year later.

Who made it: Joan @ Sweet Surrender Cakes (local baker)

How much: $450.00 – cake toppers, topper cake and 70 cupcakes.  Stand was extra and about $50.00.

How many?: Probably would have fed about 80 people if we divvied up the topper cake.  We had about 60 people total and probably close to half the cupcakes left – the buffet we had also hd a dessert table.

@amberjayjay:  It really depends on what kind and size you buy. It definitely saves you from paying a cake cutting fee though!
