What is the box made of? It should be able to stick onto almost anything with hot glue. Just make sure you get the little stringy things off after the glue dries and be careful because it is HOT (I have a burn to prove it).
I don't think it would be a problem unless you had the card box sitting in direct sunlight which might cause the glue to melt a bit. If you do it carefully I don't think you have anything to worry about.
Thanks. I got myself a low-temp glue gun for these projects...the one I'd been using was meant for use in a shop environment and was lethal!
I would only use it where it doesn't matter if it is a little lumpy. I used glue dots to make mine for a much smoother finish.
I'm not sure if the one that burned me was a low temp or not. I'm not sure those existed back in the 90s.
