We initially thought that a wedding photo thank you note would be nice, but it turned out to be not that practical - as we really wanted to get our thank you notes done as soon as possible.  So waiting for our photographer, and then for custom printing, wasn't an option.  (Instead we are sending out a wedding photo with our Christmas cards this year.)

I actually used the same thank you notes from my shower for some of the wedding thank yous.  The only way that would perhaps be less than appropriate would be if they were very shower-specific, or way off theme (some shower TYs are really cutesy or cartooney).  But it sounds like yours are fine.  I guess that if I was you I would buy a few notes of a different design so that you don't end up sending people the same note twice - in other words, if you already sent a thank you note to someone for a shower gift, you might want to consider sending one of a different design to them for the wedding gift.  But I'm sure everyone who didn't go to your shower would still love to see your engagement photo notes, and I'm also sure that nobody would be put off by receiving the same card twice.
