With the lace that wide around your face, I think a headband is too much. The headband would detract from the veil, and vice versa.
I guess you have to click on the attachment named hair to see the hairdo.
OMG I totally posted that Serena pic a while back as a hair inspiration pic. Ultimately I decided against doing it exactly because I want to wear a veil. The advice I asked for when I had this same problem, some people did say they thought it would work, but I wasn't trying to do it with a mantilla veil.
I love the look of the headband and that hairstyle! I think you could pull it off. It would look a little more like a tiara with the veil in there, but you could always take the veil off during the reception at some point.
I think you can get away with wearing a simple headband with a veil but then the veil would need to be pretty simple. So I guess you have to pick one. Ugh I so wish I could do both.
I was thinking that I would only wear the veil for the ceremony. But the more I look at the hairdo I want, I realize that the back of my hair would probably look kinda weird under the veil. It would probably push it out. Sadness. I really want to do both.
I say wear the veil for the ceremony and change into the headband for the reception....I think it might be too much with them both together
I'm with MissChirpie and blue butterfly, wear the veil for the ceremony and the headband for the reception, i think both at the same time would be too much.
I'd definitely do veil for the ceremony, headband for the reception, but not both together. I think it would be overkill.
I don't think you should wear both together. The headband has a greek goddess look to it, and the lace veil is very romantic. To me, they would clash together. I agree with the other girls....veil for ceremony, headband for reception.
I think that's way too much together. Those are two very different looks.
I love the headband look! I think the veil/headband combo could be done, but mabye not with this particular headband and veil.
Vel and headband can be used together. However, I don't think a mantilla veil can be used with a headband.. you would need a gathered veil.

So, originally I didn't think I wanted a veil. But now I think I do. My dress is being made with de-tachable straps that I plan on making into a headband. I have attached pictures of the hairstyle I want (she's wearing a headband like I will be), and the veil I saw that made me want a veil (I would get the same type elbow length with wide lace trim.). Tell me if you think it would be too much to wear a veil with the hairstlye and a headband.
