My fiances ex wife left her wedding dress at his mother’s house. It has been wonderfully preserved and is
a beautiful dress. His ex is still alive but they don’t speak to each other. I really like the dress but don’t
know if it’s ok to wear it. He says it’s ok, but I’m not sure. I’m curious what other people would do.

I would not even consider wearing an ex-wife’s wedding dress. It seems weird and a bit creepy.

Personally, I wouldn’t want to wear the same dress his ex wife did. When I’m walking down the aisle, I don’t want him to be thinking about his ex walking down the aisle in the same thing!

I wouldn’t.There are pictures somewhere of him and his ex wife and she is in that dress.I personally couldn’t….:)

Are you posting here because you know it isn’t yours? Why didn’t they try to get it to her? Why did they keep it?
Bottom line: It is not your dress.

Really? You want to marry a man in a dress that his wife wore at his 1st wedding? I’m not sure if this is a serious question?!
I don’t see anything wrong with it, but I wouldn’t.

I didn’t even think of wearing the dress I wore in my first wedding, much less someone else’s wedding.

I would say that it seems a little awkward, so I voted no.

Wow this would completely creep me out and I would never in a million years consider this!

No no no. No. Go get you a dress a dress just for you. Go to a thrift store if you need. Wear a white sun dress if you have to. Dont wear his ex wifes old dress.

@Mrs. Mink: They were unable to contact her, or she just didn’t respond
,something like that. I should clarify that she never wore it down the isle,
they got married in a courthouse and she decided not to wear it.

I think I accidentally voted yes. So move that to the no column 🙂
