Another question about wearing “white” to a wedding. I’ve purchased a black and ivory color block dress, and I’d really like to wear it to an evening wedding.
Is there too much “white” on this dress, or do you think it’s appropriate?
I’ve inserted an image of the dress:
Thanks in advance!

It doesn’t have too much white (it doesn’t even look white). I think its okay for a wedding.

gorgeous! i can’t see any reason why that wouldn’t be appropriate 🙂

I wouldn’t. You’ll have lots of other opportunities to wear that dress, and there are lots of other dresses you can wear to the wedding.

I think it’s fine to wear to a wedding. But then again, I’m all for guests wearing dresses with white in. Or even all white dresses (though the latter one I would take relationship with the bride into consideration, and see if I thought she’d mind). So I guess my view on dress etiquette for guests is rather relaxed..

Would this one be a safer choice (or do you think animal print is too…slutty?)
I really love these dresses, but I am so out of the etiquette loop!!
Thanks again for your opinions.

@alexandradee: I like the first one way better!

I like the first one. The second one isn’t quite classy enough for a wedding IMO.

I think the first dress you posted works just fine!

First one. It isn’t a long fluffy white dress or even remotely close to a traditional bridal gown.

I’m not really a fan of either for a wedding. Although of the two, I would say the first one with something else like a belt or cardigan or somehing. I just feel like there is too much white, but that’s just me.

People get so precious about white at weddings. You are an adult, NOBODY can tell you what to wear. Nobody is going to think you’re the bride, you’re not distracting from her. That’s a black dress with some white on it, not a white dress anyway. Go for it.

I really think the first dress is fine. It looks nothing like a wedding dress, and its not all white.

The 1st one. I’m usually against wearing white to a wedding but the color block makes it ok. Seems more like a black dress with some white. The 2nd one just doesn’t seem nice enough for a wedding.
