So obviously by the dress you can see I am an untraditional bride. I’m having an outdoor ceremony and dancing at the reception. I am NOT buying two different dresses. I want something light and unique, not the traditional white dress or anything big and bulky. SO with that being said, I am going to buy THIS dress. However, I do want to give it a more “bridal” feel to it. I have never wore a petticoat and am not even sure the mermaid stlye petticoats will work with this dress or is it too slimming of a dress for a petticoat. I tried looking online, can’t seem to find an examples. Let me know what you guys think?!

Also, should I wear a veil? If so, aqua or white? I don’t want to drown myself in aqua, but not sure if white would be ok? OR just skip the veil all together and just do a tiara…

That dress is gorgeous, but you should really try a mermaid on before buying it. They’re incredibly restrictive, and if you plan on dancing a lot, it might not be for you. Maybe that was just my experience – I couldn’t even walk! They are SEXY, though. 😉
I also vote no petticoat. There’s already a LOT of material down there. Your calves will be overwhelmed with any more volume.
You should definitely wear a veil! 🙂 I’d say white base with aqua flowers or embellishment.

The dress is beautiful! However, I would not add a petticoat to it. I personally think that anymore volume at the bottom of that dress will not look as flattering. That being said, if you want to add more of a “bridal” feel, what about adding a veil or a funky headpiece? There’s a lot of gorgeous headpieces and halos on etsy!
