So I have 8 weddings to go to this year from May to October... three inlcuding my own thats Im in. However, what do I wear to the other weddings... would these dresses work?
1.)

2.)
3.)

4.)

5.)

Shoes:

They're cute, but how short are these? Do they just look short on the model? If they are a regular length, I think you could wear all of them. Otherwise, I think they are too sexy... looks more like something you would wear to a club in the city or something.
a little slutty, but that just could be the pictures throwing me off lol
Holy crap, those are SHORT. Honestly, they look kind of...cheap and not flattering with so much exposed skin and how tight they are - especially with the sky high heels.
I agree with EleanorRigby They do seem a bit short... But the models probably are not helping with the way there standing... IMO
I think they look really short on the model but Im only 5"1' so Im pretty short
Some of them are a little skimpy, but I do like them all except for the last dress. And the shoes are adorable!
LOL I was trying to word this in my head but I'll stick with yours.
The red one is an absolute no. Way too flashy for a wedding. The others would be fine color-wise if they didn't look so... well, cheap. The last one is too much white on top, which in a photo from the waist up will look wedding dress-ish which is a no-no. Basically, please don't wear any of these to a wedding.
I think if they were a bit longer yup. I dont think anything should be worn to a wedding that if you need to bend over your butt hangs out.. but they are cute!
I would not wear any of these to a wedding. They are all very short and inappropriate in my opinion. Plus I am still of the mind set that you don't wearblack or white to a wedding.
They're all too short, IMO. Unless YOU are really short and those hit you right above your knees.
Honestly, I don't think they are appropriate. The second one might work if it isn't too short/ tight on you.
I agree that the last one is toeing the line so you shouldn't wear it (plus, I don't like it :P).
Not sure what everyone's problem is with the rest of them. Yes, the models are standing in a very "look at me, I'm SEXY!" way, but if you were to see someone wearing them in real like you wouldn't have the same reaction. Just make sure they aren't too short as many have said. The rest are great - go for it!
For me the only one that is even almost okay to wear to a wedding is #3, and thats ONLY if it isn't as short on you as it is on that model. All of those dresses look like great clubbing dresses, but I'd never wear any of them where I knew someone's grandparents were going to be.
I think party of the problem is the slutty poses that model is striking! "Ooops, I dropped something, let me BEND OVER and pick it up!"
That said, of all of those I think the second one is okay, as long as it's not that short on you.
If you have the body to wear it, go for it! It helps you are shorter too. =)
The only one that IMO isn't inappropriate (style-wise) is #3 but I wouldn't wear a solid white top to a wedding. The red one and the black lacy ones seem far too flashy/short/clubby (to me anyway!)
@ohheavenlyday: I agree.
ETA: Where are these all from? The way the models are posed they look like they come from an "adult" catalog.
Uhh.... No. It's a wedding, not clubbing, a little less skin I'm sure would be appreciated by the bride.
I would say that if you HAD to choose, #3 would be best, but they do seem a little risque. I was also raised that you don't wear red, black, or white to a wedding, so I would stick with blue, yellow, purple, etc...
is there a reason you picked clubbing dresses? Im sure you can find somthing a little more classy
I think all of these are completely inappropriate for a wedding. They are all club dresses IMO and club dresses are not appropriate wedding attire. Too short, too slutty.
Keep looking.
Even with the figures of the models, they look cheap. I say keep looking around.
Edit: they may look even cheaper with the Pornstar-esque models actually
Like others have stated, these dresses strike me as club clothes, not wedding clothes. If the wedding is in a church my gut reaction is absolutely no- you want to be respectful. Something a little longer, perhaps a little less clingy, and a cardigan/shawl for any wedding that will take place in a house of worship.
I'm going to have to agree with PP that I don't think they are exactly appropriate. I do think many of them are cute for other occasions, but for a wedding I would stick with something a bit more conservative. :)
Wow! #4 looks a little like lingerie!
Hopefully these wedding don't involve church ceremonies!
Well girls... im thinking I could get away with dress 3 and depending if i wore any kind of jackets... these dresses have great prices and thats why I thought I wouls ask for your opinions. Thanks
I voted no for every single one.
Might I suggest a dress from any of the following: www.thelimited.com, www.anntaylor.com, www.bananarepublic.com, www.anthropologie.com, etc?
I would be embarressed for the person that wore these to a wedding! everyone would be paying more attention to them, rather than the bride and groom. Please don't wear any of these. way to short and slutty
Dress 3 is the best choice. Still seems a little short but I like the black/white classy combo and think it has a lovely and unique neckline.
#3 and #5 definite no! In a picture from the waist up you will be wearing white...no no.
The others are okay...I would not wear any of them, I feel they aren't really appropriate since they are soo short...BUT I see that you are only 5'1'' so maybe they won't look that short on you??
Foever 21, so inexpensive, still sexy, but not over the top
Pretty for a nighttime wedding:

From BR..soooooooo cute:

Honestly, for $28, you can't beat that F21 one you posted.
Check out H&M and Forever 21 and some of the juniors stores in the mall. I was just out today and saw lots of cute things. There are lots of youthful, sweet things that cost a lot less than dept. store dresses. You can find evening without that club vibe I think a lot of people are seeing with these.
Yeah, they all look really short. The only one I like is #3 but only if it was longer. Do any of these dresses reach your knees?
@oneeleven: oh yes, the forever21 dress is a total win!
