I don't think it would work with that neckline. I'm not sure what else would though! Maybe a jacket that doesnt really go past the shoulders at all in the front?
Do you even need a bolero?
I think that would look really nice its a really pretty red.
I don't know if it would look right with that neckline. I'm thinking maybe a slightly longer jacket that hits you at the waist may look better?
I think that it is doable, but with your dress, I would be hesitant to wear anything over it. Your dress is beautiful without adding anything to it.
I actually think it could work (althought I don't know if it is necessary).
Wow. What mixed responses. I totally feared this might happen!
So, for those of you who feel I probably can't pull it off, would it make a difference if my dress had a V-neckline?
The question then becomes: do I want to alter my dress's neckline just for the purpose of wearing a really fun bolero?
I think a shrug or a shawl would be so much nicer with your dress. Personally I wouldn't change the neckline of the dress just to wear the bolero but that might just be me...
Ladies, thanks very much for your input. It seems the consensus among you (and my MOH) is that it probably wouldn't work.
Let me tell you what I'd like to accomplish, and I welcome any and all suggestions:
My dress is ivory. My shoes are a rich red. I wasn't planning on wearing a traditional veil, though I do love something like this instead of a traditional veil. I wanted to incorporate red somewhere else toward the top -- possibly my bouquet, maybe a red flower in my hair instead of that fascinator. I thought that bolero (or something like it) might be perfect but apparently my neckline may speak for itself.
Again, any suggestions are welcome. Many thanks. :)

Take a peek at this link. I love the look of this red bolero, but my dress has a bateau neckline and I'm not sure a bolero would work.
What do you think?
If you think it wouldn't work, I'd welcome alternate suggestions.
PS: If I wore the bolero, I probably wouldn't wear the waist sash in the picture.
Thanks!
