(Closed) Can my dress be altered ?

Did you try it on?  Usually you have about a half-inch or so to let out.  However, if someone already altered it, that could be a problem.  See if you can have it “on approval” to take to a seamstress.  I would think between seam allowances, the corset being looser and watching your weight, you could make it work.

My friend purchased a sample size 4 dress and had it altered up to a size 8. It’s an a-line, the bottom fit fine, but the top didn’t zip. THey took out the zipper, added a pannel and corset and not it fits perfectly. It looks great, you’d never know it was that small.

Talk to a seamstress in your area, and if she says it’s not possible, you can always resell it!

Yes, a really good seamstress can do wonders.  Bridal dresses have 2in for you to play w/.  Check out yelp and the boards for a great independent seamstress. 

Also wear your bridal undergarments to your appointment so she can work her magic.
