So I was stalking my registry @ BB&B today (don't judge! ha) and I noticed that there were 4 gifts ADDED to my registry by OTHER people!  Somebody bought 3 storage containers and a jewelry cleaner and posted them to my registry.  Anybody else notice this?  I didn't know people could just buy whatever and add it to our registry....

I've seen this happen to other Bees.  I particularly like this one...

DOn't get me wrong, I know people don't have to buy what is on the registry and I am totally thankful for anything and everything people are doing for this shower but I just thought it was a little strange!  If I bought something that wasn't on someone's registry I wouldn't bother having the store ADD it to the registry.

Maybe they bought those things for themselves along WITH a gift off your registry for you? I've heard of that happening to a lot of girls when one of their guests bought personal items on the same bill as a registry gift.

I think if someone is buying something (especially with BB&B) from the registry and they put in something extra, it automatically goes on the registry. That way you can return it if you don't like it :) I don't think it's the guest doing it, I think BB&B does it because it's happned with us a lot.

I think it goes on there if they want to buy you something outside of what you registered for. This happened to my friend, who received a comforter she didn't register for (but it turned up on her registry). It just showed up on her list and said that it was bought for her, but not requested by her. Does that make any sense?

It happened to me at Crate and Barrel and BB&B.  That's why I have 2 potato mashers coming my way now.
