I am dealing with this now with my wedding band! They are discontinuing my set and so I have to purchase my wedding band now before it is discontinued!
Sometimes they will allow you to make a 'special order' after it is discontinued so this means that they no longer carry it in the stores! I would talk to them and see what they say!

Yup they can be discontinued. A ring I was looking at was being discontinued, so they were actually offering a pretty good discount on it. Sorry :(
Maybe if it is discontinued, you could find something similar or have something custom made (not always as expensive as it sounds).
Just because it's been discontinued does not mean that a jeweler does not have one in their store. I would call around to the stores that carry that designer and check.
I noticed that the Tacori that I used to drool over has been discontinued.
my ring was the last in stock and was being discontinued. that is how i got such a great deal on it. i like that.......... none of my friends will have it :)

So I feel in love with this engagement ring from the David Yurman collection (I have a really big soft spot for the designs). BUT the ring I loved is no longer on the website AND I cannot find a picture! It had their signature cut and a wide cable band, no diamonds around the side. I never thought about the fact the rings might become "discontinued" but I'm really hoping this is not the case! Anyone been in this situation?
