If you get a sunday paper, there is almost always a Michael's flyer with a 40% off coupon for the week. Ask your relatives who get the paper to get them for you, too!
they come in the flyer, but i signed up for the mailing list and have them emailed to me every week!
i usually get a flyer in the sunday newspaper and sometimes a second one on tuesdays with all the junk mail. it just depends on your location.
also, you can usually find a printable coupon online through a simple google search. and finally, sometimes they give you a coupon with your reciept for the following week when you make a purchase.
HTH
Go to the Michaels website and you can sign up to recieve their coupons in your email in box. You can usually find their coupons on the web too using a simple Google search.
Good luck!
At my Michael's, whenever I go in and purchase something, they print a coupon (usually 40% off one regular priced item) with my receipt to use the following week.
Michael's gives out a TON of coupons! Newspaper is always good, so are the receipt coupons, AND you can sign up through their email list. They sent out 6 this week! Most are useless, though, but the 40% off one is in there. Love them!
I know that the Michael's craft stores in my area are no longer doing the Sunday circulars in attempts to trying to go green. So it's the receipt coupon or the coupons they send you via email.
Thanks so much everyone! I feel so much more in the loop now :-)
Joann Fabric is another good coupon to get. They still put theirs in the Sunday paper. Both stores will take the other stores coupons, if it is for an item they both sell. You can also use one coupon for each store when you check out. One thing about Joann's, if you need fabric or lace by the yard, you can go to the counter and get the yardage you need. One coupon from Joann's is good for one cut, so if you need several lengths, it is a good idea for you to have them cut one length, and then you can go home and cut the extra lengths.
Michaels also usually takes Hobby Lobby coupons as well, and vice versa if they are both actively seeking customers in the same area/city
You HAVE to sign up for their email list & they will send you the coupons. Also you can print out several & make several trips. You can also Google their 50% off coupon that are posted on coupon websites. They have worked every time for me. I have only be questioned on the 45% coupons, they only have 40% or 50%. Also whenever you buy anything there should be a coupon at the end of your receipt.
Michaels will take Joann fabric coupons too... FYI :) I bought two packs of place cards and two x-acto knives... I had 4 50% off coupons (2 Michaels, 2 Joann) and therefore got everything for half off!
I'll go on and be an outlier, but Michaels is a ripoff. Most art stores offer the same stuff they have at 1/4 the price. As their REGULAR prices.
Look out for art stores, ladies.
Just my 4 cents. :p
Almost every time you shop at Michael's your receipt gives you 40% off the next item but it needs to be used in a specific time frame. They almost always have 40% off in store on baskets or frames which can be very useful for the wedding.
Your question has been answered already, but I'll chime in too. Sign up on their website! And as someone previously said, whenever you purchase something you almost always get a coupon with your receipt. As for Hobby Lobby, you can get their coupons directly from their site. God I love Hobby Lobby.
Oh fiftyfootbride- I agree with you on that. I've found Hobby Lobby to be alot better with prices and variety than Michaels.
sign up for their email list definitely!! also, whenever you buy something they often times give new coupons with your puchase. this week they have a special where if you buy a product you receive a bag stuffer that has a coupon for 15% off of the entire purchase INCLUDING sales items! so you can get things for little of nothing depending on what you're looking for.
The easiest/fastest/most convenient way for me to get a Michael's coupon is to Google "Michael's coupon", then I click over to images and there they are, print one out that hasn't expired and you are set!
I agree with Lillindy. When I google Michael's coupon, I have always been able to find one. And when you purchase something there, they often print off extra coupon receipts. You should definitely be able to find 40% off coupons.
skibobrown - I would totally give you my coupons right now lol. I have 3 of them in my purse!
I get them every time I shop at Michael's (which obviously has been pretty often recently) and they print out with your receipt. I haven't seen them anywhere else, and I haven't tried printing any online.
How i shop at micheal's and spend almost nothing:
1) sign up for their mailing list! I get a paper flyer with coupons in the mail (I hate printing coupons off, it annoys me, but you can get them in your e-mail too). These are usually the 40% off one item coupons!
2) use the coupons from the bridal magazines! They are usually 20% off everything you buy.
3) use the 50% off one item coupon they give you with every receipt (well, I get one with every receipt here in Milwaukee anyhow...)
4) Go to the store with ALL 3 COUPONS! Last time i went I used both my 40% off and my 50% off coupon with my 20% off everythign coupon. I got $60 worth of stuff for $20! Yeah! now that is a great deal!
Also, i don't know if you have this store near you, but Jo Ann Fabrics sends out 40-50% off coupons if you're on their mailing list AND they often have coupons in the Sunday paper. Their coupons seem less frequent and they have hasseled me about combining coupons before, so they're not as great at Micheal's, but their fabric selection is waaaay bigger and they're great for tulle, fabric, foam, and seasonal items (also, they have a bigger fake flower section then my local Micheal's).
You all are awesome!! I am totally set now to get shopping for crafting supplies. ...also, I'm lucky and our Michael's is pretty much right around the corner from our house. The DIY possibilities are endless!

I'm getting to the point where I want to start some of my DIY projects for our wedding. I see postings all over Weddingbee where people have used major discount coupons at Michael's (40% off?!) to make their purchases. Maybe I just have yet to get on the Michael's mailing list, but I don't even know where to look for their coupons. The best I have seen is a 20% off coupon in one of my MSW magazines, but that one has already expired. Please help!
