That's what we're using. I did several test runs and each stayed strong for a minimum of 60 hours.
Are you using a binder clip to keep the LED contacts tight against the battery? Are you sure you didn't drain the batteries when you were putting them together by having the batteries touch each other for a few hours?
That's all I can think of, sorry!

we tested out a 10 mm 10,000 mcd led with a 3v battery and it isn't staying strong long enough for us to light the lanterns the day before the wedding.
we are decorating the day before because our wedding is at 2 the next day, so we need the lights to last the next day and into the night, and not dim.
any help?
