You assign a number for each invite and write that number somewhere on the card, usually the back. If someone sends in an RSVP without a name, you just look up the number to figure out who it is.
You put a number on the back of each RSVP card and then keep a master list with you that tells you which number matches up with which person. That way, if someone forgets to write their name or they have really bad handwriting, you can look at the number on the back of the card and check your list to find out who it belongs to.
Yup, the others explained it. I numbered each person in my excel spreadsheet and then wrote the number on the back of my RSVP cards. Ex. Mary Smith is assigned number 24 in the excel spreadsheet, so her her RSVP card will have the number 24 on the back. It comes in handy when people don't write their names on the returned RSVP card!
Thanks, ladies. That's what I thought. But then I thought "could it really be that simple?" Thankfully, it is!!
Do people really not write their names on their response card? Hilarious.
Thanks again!
Sometimes people are so excited to pick their dinner that they forget to write their name on their RSVP! Or, in VirginiaMarie's case, her guests were selling RSVPs and are making her wedding a college reunion of sorts haha...

numbering your RSVP cards? I see a lot of bees post about it (as in, "I should have numbered my RSVP cards") but I'm not entirely sure what this means.
Can anyone be so kind as to walk me through it?
Thanks bunches!
