eek. sounds like it was a fake story then, and I’m glad. Disturbed individual, it sounds like, but at least no cats were harmed.

For anyone else unfamiliar with this term outside of the realm of children’s toys:

http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=sock%20puppet

1.

sock puppet

An account made on an internet message board, by a person who already has an account, for the purpose of posting more-or-less anonymously.

2.

sockpuppet

A false identity adopted by trolls and other malcontents to support their own postings.
She brought in six friends to back up her story, but five of them turned out to be sockpuppets.

 It means that someone had more than one account which is against TOS.

@cmbr:  Thanks!

Isn’t that what ladies do when they post anonymously?  I see that a lot.

I think we’re allowed to have an anonymous account for posting personal stuff,  but I think we have to make it obvious that it’s an anonymous account for that purpose.  This person just seemed to have two normal accounts.

@FLBlonde93:  They do, though the TOS allows for that. There is a pretty clear difference between creating an account to talk about your possible unwanted pregnancy (or whatever) and to talk about poisoning cats.

Thanks bees I was wondering about that too, I was feeling so sick thinking of those cats!

What a weird thing to do though, it was a very thorough story, and she really didn’t get any trolling out of it other than lots of advice and sympathy?

O.o
