That's what we're doing! Well, actually the groom is wearing a tie and vest rather than bowtie, but I love the idea of the two of us in white (he wanted to go so far as put himself in a white tux *shudder*)
Of course, we're not doing black tie affair, so maybe my opinion won't matter, but I love the idea.
That is what we are doing as well. The groom is wearing a black tux with a white vest & bow tie. I love the idea of both of us wearing white and him being different from the groomsmen.
We're doing the same-but with a black suit instead and a white tie. I love the idea of the only ones being in white.
Ditto! Well, Mr. Petunia and I are wearing ivory, but same difference, no? And the rest of our colors are green, pink and fuchsia, too! I think it's nice that the bride and groom are in ivory/white. Besides, even if someone did think it weird -- though why would they really? -- I say go with what you like anyway!

All the wedding party guys are all matching except for the color of their vests and ties. My fiance will be wearing a white tie/vest with black suit, the best men are wearing a cinnamon/orange colored tie/vest, and our groomsmen are wearing a dark purple/fushia colored tie/vest. =)
So by all means, go for it!! ;D

Planning for the wedding reception to be very vibrant, colorful and contemporary.Bridesmaids and moms are wearing hot pink and fuschias... Love the idea of the bride and the groom being the only ones wearing white. Can the groom wear a white/ivory bow tie and vest to a black tie affair (the groomsmen in standard black)? I know traditional "white tie attire" is supposed to be done with tails/bolero style but he's already has a tuxedo and understandably doesn't want to wear tails...
