@confusedbridehere:  What is the other end of the room like?

You could put the TV in the center of the end wall in front of that curtained area. Is that  a media console there now? You can get ones with an electric fireplace built in- adds to that cozy look.

Is that a sofa between the table on the left and the exercise equipment? Place the sofa facing the TV  in the middle of the room. All furniture doesn’t have to be against the wall.

That should leave room for a comfy chair on the left.

Does the armoire open up so that it could be used as a bar? Then all yoou need to add is a small fridge .

If not, have the bar at this end of the room. It can go next to the stairway- use that table that’s on the left right now.

Move the exercise equipment elsewhere or place it this side of the sofa.

This could totally work. I’d put the TV between the built in bookshelves and couches along the side and the bar at the end where the picture is being taken from.

How much wall is beside the dart board? If there’s a corner there it should be plenty of space to put a small bar.

Or you could put a sectional couch against the wall where the table with candles is, put the tv between the shelves and the bar against the other wall, beside the door. The couch would help to close off the space and make it “his”.

put the couch in the middle of the room with a long thin  table behind it, so it’s not just floating. tv where the curtain is, and bar against one of the side walls behind the couch.

@confusedbridehere:  That’s why they have sofa or console tables. Place one behind the sofa.

sofa placed across a room- console table gives surface for lamps and allows you to tuck a couple of stools underneath for extra seating.

An area rug would also help to define and cozy up the space.

Here’s how I would set up the major pieces:

1) Big TV on the wall to the left of the door

2) Couch on wall opposite TV.

3) Bar on the wall to the right of the door

4) Put either a foosball table or high top bar table with a couple of stools across from the bar, near the bottom of the stairs (if space allows, the room looks pretty big, bu that might be your camera playing tricks on me).

Fun ideas (assuming that you are going for a beer & sports vibe):

– make a side table for the couch out of a min fridge topped with butcher block

 – use emty kegs or barels as decor elements.  For example, a keg can make the base of a table or chair.

@confusedbridehere:  Actually, unless you really need the closet space that could be the perfect place for a bar! Turn it into a little wine cellar/ snack food storage area! I’m a professional housecleaner, and I see things like that all the time in the houses I work in. I think its really cool.
