(Hugs) does he know you want to go ring shopping? M is appalled by going ring shopping with me. He doesn’t want to go with me nor a anyone at all he says this is completely his decision I said as long as it is a blue stone in a halo setting and vintagey he can go for it lmbo! Are any stores having a sale in the area so you can just take a peak to see how much things cost?

haha the second we started talking about marriage I would email him photos of exactly what I wanted. Including the price & my size. I’m a control freak lol and I’d say my approach was a little aggressive! I loved my ring at first, btw, but now I hate the setting. It gets SO dirty, so fast. Do not get a split shank w/ diamonds!!

Hmm… why don’t you ask him to go shopping for lingerie or a new dress? Get him interested πŸ™‚ Or ask him to return something with you and “casually” walk by some sparkly rings and gush! Or ask what he thinks… either he’ll run away or he’ll make a comment about it. lol atleast you’ll know where he stands πŸ˜›

@eloping: lol what man wouldn’t want to go shopping for lingerie? Gotta work our womanly wiles to get what we want sometimes…

@crebre80: A smarter man would have gone running from the amount of emails I sent my FI regarding the ring I wanted lol.

My hunny and me started by sitting on the couch and ‘shopping’ on my laptop – the weather’s getting colder, so cuddle up and gawk at sparkly lovelies πŸ™‚

Good luck, and let us know when you achieve some progress on the issue πŸ™‚

I hear you. I wanted to go ring shopping with my FI (then BF) so badly too and he sent me ring shopping by myself first to figure out what I liked. 3 or 4 months went by. Then, I finally convinced him to go with me shopping and he nearly had a panic attack in the store. You have to understand, this is a very stressful time for them. It’s a lot of money, and a lot of commitment for them. Give him some time, maybe go look for a bit yourself and see what you like, then next time you are out and about and near a store, you can point a few or ‘the one’ out. πŸ™‚

Hey Ladies!!

I totally understand where you are coming from…today was our first ring shopping extravaganza! We were really just browsing…and honestly i didnt even know my ring size. BF was a little nervous at first…but by the end it was him going “what about that one?” for now we are looking more for styles…princess cut…vs thee stones…etc. But to get him in the store i told him that we at least had to figure out my ring size…because if he ever wanted to surprise me that would be vital to know! Thats how i went about doing it!!! And it worked!

Oh honey, I know exactly how you feel. My bf refuses to go ring shopping with me and refuses to look at rings online either. Its sooooo frustrating and annoying. all he ever says is “i will take care of it” ughhhhhhhhhhh men!!!

next time steer him past a jewelelry store and go “oh look, shiney thing, i like that one, which one do you like?”  and go from there…….

goodluck – i would be very frustrated by now

I totally would have steered with the premise that you wanted to get your mom a necklace bracelet jewelry cleaner ANYTHING! And then go oh wow what a pretty ring!
