Hi Bees:
So i made yesterday my bouquet and my bridesmaid bouquet. my wedding is red, black and white. and it have a mouling rouge- punk rock feeling (i know, is weird) my family is brutally honest to the point of being really mean, they dont know any better. so that why i want the bees to be honest with me, so i can be prepare for my wedding day.
tell me the true: what do you think about the bouquets?? dont worry, i wont my opinions i just want a sincere opinion
I LOVE IT! my colors are exactly that too.. I will be doing black magic and baccara roses with blk feathers as well!
I really like them!!! I think you might do a bit less feathers but I do like them as is.
i think they're fun, and definitely fit the feel you're going for - i can see nicole kidman swinging on the swing with one of those in her hand!
I think they look pretty awesome! I am not a huge fan of fake flowers, but I think they look really nice. I especially like the feathers & the ribbon you used to bind the handle.
I think they will go PERFECTLY with your theme! The feathers aren't really 'my style' but I LOVE how you put them together, and they look very high qualty and professional! I'm impressed that you made them yourself!
the roses are made of feather too. i bought them in the dolar store and fell in love with them...
Those are so cool! I love them! At first I was trying to figure out what kind of roses they were, lol.. but yeah, I wouldn't change a thing!
I actually really like them.. usually on these kind of posts I look at it, maybe offer something helpful to fix whatever disaster a bride has created, or just back out of the post slowly and act like I never saw it. BUT, I really like these- maybe it's just because they are my style, but I think they look great!
I think they go perfect with your theme. In fact, if someone told me punk rock meets moulin rouge, I'd have a hard time imagining anything else! While these aren't my style, I think your wedding sounds like it'd be a blast to attend.
And the flowers are made of feathers?! I had to take a second look since I didn't believe you, haha. :) These. are. awesome.
They're different, but in a really good way! Are they made out of feathers? the flowers I meant. I really like them! And if you do too, then your family can kiss off. lol
@what2bee that is so funny!!! =)
so everybody loves them?? really?? wow i think i did a really good job then! i feel better now. its so weird to be in the wedding mode for so long that everything seem weird. i need it and outsider opinion.
I'm not really a fan of fake flowers, but I think you did a great job on them. I like that edgy punk look.
These are totally not my style but they seem to fit perfectly with the theme and feel of your wedding. Also, they look extremely well put together and professional - I think you did a great job!
ok brutally honest. not at all my style... but i love pale colours and very simple things so they wouldn't be! HOWEVER, they go with your theme perfectly! And at the end of the day, you said you love them, and that is the only thing that's important, a beautiful bride is a happy bride... and who cares what others think, you have spent hours making a very professional looking product and they are very moulin rouge.
I'm going to go a little against the grain here . . .
I actually do like the flower/feather combination, but I really think the white detailing on the ribbon takes away from the overall effect. I think simple, black, satiny ribbon would be a better option, which would leave all of the attention on the feathers/flowers, and not the stems.
Gorgeous and unique! You did a fantastic job with the bouquets!
I like everything about it - even the white detail on the ribbon. In fact, I think it really adds to the overall look! Looks great.
The roses are amazing! They are so beautiful. the dollar store? I'm impressed! The colors arn't my style but I think they look great and the ribbon around them really makes them look put together! great job :)
They are perfect for your theme. I love them. However, they are far from traditional bridal flowers, so be prepared for your brutally honest family to give you opinions about them because they are not what is expected.
@mrst2b i completely understand. not everybody goes for so dark colors or weird theme. my MOH is like you. thanks so much!
@miss cosmopolitan i see what you are saying about the ribbon. but i do love that ribbon. im using the same exact design through the reception. thanks for the advice =)
@carbongirl they have all ready made a lot of comment about our choices. the thing is i can take all the credit because my fi is really in to the planning. so i can honestly say is a share job.
i'm not a huge fan of feathers, BUT i must say you really did a fantastic job. Given the "look" and feel for your wedding, i really do think it fits very nicely. i can't believe how well the roses look, very impressive.
:D
@peterpotamus thanks so much i love to have excuses to post my dress
@Magenta - seeing your dress--your bouquets are truly a perfect match! How gorgeous is that red with the tiers! You've done a beautiful job putting it all together so far!
I am not usually one for red or black but I love your bouquets and dress, they are going to look great together!
Okay now I love them even more, I saw your dress in another post and loved it! The dress and the boquet together are HOTT! I'm glad you don't have a white dress, the red makes the feathers and flowers even more fantastic!
I love the bouquets! I think you did an excellent job. I'm worried, though, that they might blend in or clash with your beautiful dress. Might you incorporate some white or other shades of red? You could even put a little orange and pink in there; it would give some variation and it doesn't have to match the rest of the wedding exactly, since it's your bouquet. That would give a nice contrast between you and your bridesmaids, and theirs could still be solid red, which would compliment your dress beautifully.
Like a lot of other Bees, not my style, but they are well executed and seem in really good keeping with your look.
My only concern is that you check to make sure that the red of the bouquet goes with your dres really well. Reds of different shades look especially off when put together. If your dress and the bouquets aren't a perfect match in tone of red (the picture looks kind of pink, but could just be lighting), I would recommend making a new one just for you. Maybe with white flowers. I think if your BMs carry bouquets that are slightly off from your dress, it won't be a problem, I just think your bouquet should match very closely.
I love them - thanks for clarifying that the roses are also feather because that was my first question.
Is your family aware of the theme of your wedding? Because ... while I love them and the Hives seems to love them, ... I can hear my grandma's reaction in my head, and she ain't loving them.
They're cool, but they're definitely pretty non-traditional as far as bouquets go, and you've mentioned how brutal your family can be - so it might be wise to steel yourself against their reactions, just in case. Does that make sense? No matter what all of us think, they'll form their own opinion. If they vocalize that in a hurtful way, just remember.... we all love them!
I think they're perfect for your theme. I'm not really a fan of feathers but it's your day. Don't let your family bring you down.
Brutally honest: I think the fit yout theme and style perfectly. I can't wait to see pics of your wedding! Def get the rock/Moulin Rouge vibe.
thank you girls for all the great comments!!! im please with the result and happy and how will they look at the wedding
I think they look perfect! I love that the feathers are around the bottom almost showcasing the flowers! However.....there is always a But......I am also concerned how they will look next to your dress becasue you want them to be exactly the same or noticeably different so it doesnt look like a mistake that was over looked. But aside from that I think you did a beautiful job putting them together! i am making my bouquets as well with silks! did you use pins or how did you hold the ribbon on? BTW I love the white on the ribbon!
