So, I’m struggling with how to handle an issue with a potential reception site gracefully. My fiance and I recently got engaged and have just started looking at reception sites.
We found one place so far that we loved, but really got a terrible vibe from the coordinator who showed us around. He spoke unbelievably fast and kept walking away from us, even after we asked him to slow down. He rushed us through and was just very inconsiderate of our questions. He talked a lot about getting drunk at his own wedding at the site, and both of us, and my family just didn’t feel a good fit with him.
However, we really loved the place, it’s absolutely beautiful, and very much what we want, but it’s also very expensive, so I feel it’s ridiculous to pay that kind of money for that kind of service. I’ve gotten the sense that once you start with a coordinator, you don’t stop, even though we haven’t booked anywhere yet.
Does anyone know what the etiquette is on asking to see the site again with someone else. The venue has several coordinators, and I’m very tempted to give some gentle feedback in asking for someone new. I just figure our experience would be similarly uncomfortable throughout the planning process, and I was hoping for a more positive experience. Any thoughts or experience with this?
