As we’re having a very short non-religious ceremony we’re not having programmes but we are doing the traditional listing of the bridesmaids & groomsmen etc on one side of our folding menu (long & tall, they’re going to stand on the tables, wine on inside left, menu inside right, thank yous on the back). FH and I wanted to include some sort of thank you to our family and have been going back and forward on the wording. We’ve more or less settled on this but my head is telling me something still isn’t right. Can you either put me out of my misery or help me fix it? Hint >> I think it’s something about the word “siblings” that seems off? The bolded bits will be in a different script font, bolder and larger (the fonts etc match the rest of the menu so I won’t bore you with explaining that.
I put this under etiquette. It could equally have come under family… paper… I honestly didn’t know where to put it 😛
XXXXX and XXXXX would like to thank…
Xxxxx & Xxxxxx Xxxxx
Xxxxx & Xxxxxx Xxxxxx
and our siblings,
for their love, devotion, and unwavering support. We are so lucky to have you as our family.

I think it’s fine how it is and I don’t have an issue with the ‘siblings’ bit…that’s what they are, lol. I wouldn’t over think it.

I think its too much of the word “and”. If you say our parents xxxxxx, our siblings xxxxx, and xxxxx it would flow a little better

This may not be what you were looking for, but I would thank all of your guests on the menus. I would say something short and sweet about how you’re so blessed to have them all there with you to witness your marriage: “the bride and groom would like to thank all of their friends and family for being present with them on this special day. Thank you for your love, devotion, and unwavering support. We are so lucky to have you in our lives.” The two of you could give a toast at the reception and specifically thank your parents and siblings.

cmbr: That was my original plan but then we moved the thank yous to the guests to our name-place chocolate bar wrappers! I really love that wording though, I’ll have to run it by FH and see what he thinks 🙂
Ayybety: But that way it reads Bride and Groom would like to thank our parents our siblings for their love, devotion etc etc etc – not qute right.
Lollybags: I just thought “brother and sister” to be more specific might be better…t hen I read the comment about too many “ands”… yep. Hmmmm.
