Can you produce EWCM but not ovulate until a week later?

It’s definitely possible that didn’t O until this week. And ovulation can definitely, definitely change from month to month unfortunately.

Although in your case, if you really are 28 days every month (including what this month will be), I have read that what generally does NOT fluctuate too much, without intervention, is the length of the luteal phase. So….let me conclude this by saying I really don’t know!

@ajillity81:  My last two cycles I had EWCM about a week before I ovulated, well I think I ovulated a week later since that’s when I got the big temp hike. So I’m following the fertility awareness method and determining my O date by my temperatures, not CM or OPKs (I’m yet to get a positive OPK).

So, I think it’s possible, at least that’s what I think is happening to me.

i started having it exactly a week before i ovulated, it just got more plentiful the day i had my first positive OPK and TMI – so much so that when i found some in the pee cup, i just knew i was going to get a positive OPK.

I think you should start charting your temps. The O pains can be something else too. Our bodies are constantly doing all kinds of funky stuff. It is different from cycle to cycle.

In fact, my temps this cycle gradually declined and then inclined for O. I had difficulty figuring out when I actually O’d. (CD 16) The cycle BEFORE this one, my temps were steady and then there was a sharp incline on O day. (CD 14). However, in both cases, my luteal phase was abt the same. That can only be +/- 2 days. No more. (As per TCOYF book and various websites I have researched).
