I think a quarter of a carat is a noticeable size difference. Anything under that and it’s probably not but at that size difference you should be able to tell. Also, since there isn’t much difference in the price of a 1 ct vs 1.25 ct moissanite I would go larger because you may wish you had later on, vs upgrading down the road. Just my $.02.

Under 3 carats, if you have the option, ALWAYS go bigger.

@philadelphiachic:  I think it’s noticeable with diamonds at least. Since moissanite is a fraction of the cost, I’d go for the bigger size. You’re not talking thousands like diamonds.

I think it would be noticeable. I have a 1 carat on a size six finger, for reference.  My fiancé picked the size for me, and I’m personally glad he went smaller in the range I said I thought I’d like.  I prefer understated jewelry, and this is already HUGE to me.

That being said, if you like bigger stones, you might as well go for the 1.25!

Here is my ring if you’d like to see one carat on the same size finger

I think you can.  I would get the 7mm.  The very bottom is 6.5mm and the next is 7mm
