can you return or exhange makeup?

This weekend i went to the MAC make up counter to get a makeup consult for my wedding (I am doing my own the day of, but I wanted some help with new colors). I bought a foundation from them that looked fine in the store, but then when I got home, it looks too yellow for my skin tone and I feel it is the wrong shade.

I know, I know, I should have looked at it in natural light before i bought it! But I didn't.

Do you know if I can return it or exchange it?

yes, if you take it back, they should return it. i've done it before with cosmetics and they take it back.

They always take makeup back... I've returned powders, lotions, lipsticks, etc....all for good reasons such as breakouts or irritations to not matching skin tones...

Makeup counters need better lighting! =)

Yes, you can. You just need your receipt and the product....and within 30 days, even if it's used, you can return or exchange for another color. I had this problem with foundation too... MAC is awesome like that!

I had the same thing happen, but my consultant (Sephora) said he intentially gave me a more yellow shade, and that it would photograph better. I just got teaser e-pics, and my skin looks totally normal! Are you willing to try some photos, or is it really that bad?
