You can definitely try...most birds' feathers will repel water, though, but the worst that'll happen is that the stain won't stick. You might have better luck with a very very light tan/ivory oil-based paint, maybe even a spray paint. Those would probably stick better.

Hi ladies!
I found a headband today that has the PERFECT fascinator on it, but... well, I don't like headbands. So I bought it with the intention of taking it off of the headband and hot gluing a clip to it. This should be easy, because I can cut through the felt on the back side.
The problem is - now that I have it home and hold it up to my dress, I see that it's WAY too white... my dress is more of an antique white. So, before I rip this thing apart and ruin it, I was wondering if anyone has any advice on darkening the feathers.
I think a light tea stain would make it the right shade, but I don't know if that will stick. It is attached to felt, and it's fine if that gets stained to. Actually, it will probably need to so that a stark white backing isn't showing.
Any help/advice????
Thanks!
