Who’s up early celebrating??? Darling Husband and I woke up at 4:30am to make a big breakfast and watch the game at home… We called around a bit but it sounded yesterday like the bars were pretty much going to be booked up. Man! That was a great game, eh?
What was your favourite part?
I loved that it was an exciting and fast paced game, and also the celebrating at the end. It’s a really special moment when the athletes realize that they won a gold, and I love that look on their faces.

My favorite part was that Sidney Crosby finally scored! This was his first goal of the Olympics! I also liked that one of the players went and brought John Tavares out on the ice. He is out for the season with a torn MCL but he was an integral part of the team.
Double gold for Canada in hockey!!!

WOOT! I never imagined waking up at 4:30am on a day off would be so much fun. 🙂

@Fizzy8: I got up at 6:30 AM to watch the game and I think it’s the only time I’ve gotten up that early on a Sunday, haha. FH got up even earlier to make breakfast for us :)! So awesome. Hockey and breakfast is a great combination and it’s probably not going to happen again.
The city allowed bars to open at 7 AM today and they were all packed up. We stayed home.
The women did it, so I knew the men could as well! YAY!

@musical-lady: How excellent that he made breakfast! Yum yum. The bars being open crazy early was so funny. I barely had time to ask what was going to happen with that before Alberta Liquor and Gaming announced that everyone would be allowed to open and serve alchohol. Very amusing to see full bars everywhere at 5am. I love that the whole country watched together regardless of time zones. 🙂

@Fizzy8: Darling Husband is Canadian and I’m Swedish so of course we HAD to watch it. Canada played so well and deserved the win (even though it stings a little bit ;-)). At least Darling Husband was trying really hard not to celebrate too hard in front of me lol!

@Fizzy8: We were up. And this will probably get me flamed, but I made Fiance wait until after the game was over to go to urgent care! He has some soft tissue damage in his shoulder from a fall yesterday. The centre opened at 9. He fell yesterday (skiing) around 5. It’s not like it couldn’t wait another few minutes until the game was done!

@sostobe: I am an ER nurse and I agree that he could wait!
We got up at 4 to watch the game, then went back to bed for a few hours. Darling Husband made breakfast and did the dishes when we woke up, so it’s already a great day all around for me.

We are in Hawaii on our honeymoon… the game was at 2am local time and you bet my husband woke up and watched. I definitely did not though.
