I purchased my original set from Mappins jewellers in 2005. I understand their policy is that bridal jewelry can be traded in if the new set price is at least double the price you paid for your original set. My question is, do any of you Canadian bees know if stores such as Mappins, Peoples, etc, will accept other jewelry not purchased at their stores towards a trade-in as well?

I am fairly sure the answer is no but doesn’t hurt to ask.

lavenderstone: I got my first set at Spence Diamonds and they had that policy there. I know Birks also does it. I could have sworn that when I was at People’s looking for a ring the salesperson mentioned that feature but I cannot guarentee. I am in Alberta.

I don’t know about people’s but zales is owned by the same company and they will not except jewelry that wasn’t purchased from them on trade in. So I’m guessing people’s probably has the same policy.
